For quality assurance purposes, requests with incomplete, incorrect or discrepant patient data cannot be processed!

Proper sample preparation and pre-analytical handling are essential for obtaining reliable results:

• 2 x EDTA tubes (7 ml each): Warm all EDTA samples in a water bath or incubator at 37°C for 30 minutes.
• Centrifuge the warmed EDTA sample (e.g., 10 min at 3000 rpm).
• Separate the EDTA plasma from the blood pellet. Transfer the EDTA plasma into an uncoated tube.
• Submit both samples separately, clearly labeled with the sample type ("EDTA plasma" and "EDTA blood").

EDTA plasma is preferable to serum. Serum may only be submitted as an exception alongside the EDTA sample.

Stability of EDTA sample: 3 days
