Indication/Significance:	Unbalanced diet (increased consumption of fish with a high proportion of polyenic acids) Resorption disorders Insufficient storage capability, e.g. newborns with blood formation disorders and maturity disorders
Interpretation:	Decreased: Vitamin E more… Decreased: Vitamin E deficiency, e.g. with disturbed fat absorption (e.g. pancreatic insufficiency, coeliac disease) Increased: Daily doses of > 1.000 mg can lead to diarrhoea and nausea. Higher vitamin E levels cannot be ingested through food, but only be reached with vitamin E preparations. A protective effect against arteriosclerosis and malignomas is under discussion. close
