A vitamin C deficiency more… A vitamin C deficiency is extremely rare with a customary diet in Germany. Surplus vitamin C is quickly excreted mainly as oxalic acid. Risk of oxalate calculus formation if daily doses of more than 2 g are administered. So far, high doses of vitamin C administered over the long term have not proved to improve the immune defence. There is also no reliable proof of the health-promoting effects of increased vitamin C doses (> 200 mg daily). |
