Preanalytics/Notes:	Stability studies by the reagent manufacturer have shown that contrary to the initial information, the serum sample does not have to be sent in frozen. The samples should be sent to the laboratory promptly and they need to be frozen for a longer storage. Patients receiving high doses of biotin (> 5 mg / day) should be sampled at least 8 hours after the last application, as high levels of biotin may interfere with the test system.

This quotient allows for a prediction up to 5 weeks before the onset of the disease.
