Indication/Significance:
  • Suspected magnesium deficiency (tremor, increased reflexes, tachyarrhythmias, states of exhaustion)
  • Suspected magnesium poisoning (hyporeflexia, hypotonia through hypervolämia, repiratory depression, coma)
  • Monitoring of magnesium levels, e.g. at ongoing treatment with diuretics or nephrotic drugs, renal damage, long-term total parenterl nutrition, alcohol withdraw.
