Sequencing analysis of more… Sequencing analysis of the V3 loop from glycoprotein 120 allows a prediction over the co-receptor usage of the present viral strain (chemokine receptor CCR5 or CXCR4). Treatment with CCR5-antagonists (maraviroc) is not likely to be effective for CXCR4-tropic viruses. For patients without current viremia, the analysis can be performed using intracellular, proviral DNA. |
