The gliadin antibody test is carried out to detect or rule out a coeliac disease, usually together with the transglutaminase antibody test (endomysium antibodies). IgA DGP antibodies are the best markers in children under the age of two. As patients with coeliac disease often have an IgA deficiency, the determination of IgG DGP antibodies is important. An appropriate rational procedure could be as follows (also in patients with IgA deficiency!):
The measurement of the IgA concentration in the serum is indicated in addition. The antibody titers drop on a gluten-free diet and are usually no longer detectable after 6 months. |
Further tests: | Transglutaminase (endomysium) - IgA antibodies (tTg/TG2), IgA, EMA antibodies (IFT), HLA-DQ2 and HLA-DQ8 |
