Indication/Significance:	Screening in the case of suspected ANCA-associated vasculitis (Wegener's granulomatosis, microscopic polyangiitis) Differential diagnostics of glomerulonephritides Differential diagnostics of acute renal failure, pulmonary bleeding, and pulmonary-renal syndrome Suspected drug-induced vasculitis Screening in the case of suspected chronic inflammatory bowel diseases (e.g. ulcerative colitis) Therapy monitoring in the case of Wegener's granulomatosis
Interpretation:	Detectable in the cases more… Detectable in the cases of: Granulomatosis with polyangiitis (Wegener's granulomatosis) (up to 85 % of the cases) Churg-Strauss syndrome (up to 40 % of the cases) Systemic vasculitides (rare) False-positive cANCA tests can be detectable in infectious diseases, e.g. pneumonia, HIV, endocarditis and monoclonal gammopathy. An atypical ANCA is found in chronic inflammatory bowel diseases or with primary sclerosing cholangitis. The relevant target antigens have not been characterised yet. close
Further tests:	If the cANCA test is positive, request proteinase-3 antibodies (PR3). In cases of acute renal insufficiency consider GBM abs.
