Preanalytics/Notes:	If possible, send in spontaneous diurnal urine and not morning urine, as the first urine in the morning usually has a pH value of < 6.0. Neutralise (pH 6.0 - 7.5) sample after collection with 0.5 M sodium hydroxide solution or 0.1 M sodium hydrogen carbonate. Limited stability of the sample, if required, freeze urine and dispatch deep-frozen.
