Preanalytics/Notes:	Withdraw 3 ml of EDTA blood, if possible without congesting the vein, immediately centrifuge the blood, transfer supernatant EDTA plasma into a new tube, label it accordingly, then freeze it and dispatch it frozen.

Interpretation:	Elevated values can more… Elevated values can indicate a disturbed urea synthesis, e.g. acquired in the scope of severe liver diseases. Clinical signs of a hepatic encephalopathy can be observed from values > 90 µmol/l, with comatous patients values > 170 µmol/l were observed. close
