Cellular tests: Fish, shellfish and crustaceans

Intolerance reactions to certain allergens cannot be mapped with the CAP/RAST® method. The test system available for these and some other allergens is the cellular allergy test (FlowCAST) that examines basophiles as primary effector cells of an allergic reaction. Please contact your local representative before sending, due to the critical stability of the specimen and a reliable result!

When requesting a cellular allergy test, please observe the following pre-analytical notes:

1. Sample material: 150 µl EDTA blood for each allergen to be tested
   (please send the EDTA tubes filled at least up to the half for reasons of the correct EDTA blood ratio)
2. Optimal sampling between 3 weeks and 3 months after the suspected allergen contact
3. Same-day sampling and sending to the laboratory; store the sample at 4 °C, Stability 24h only upon sampling.
4. Submission of samples to the laboratory from Monday through Thursday
