| Preanalytics/Notes: | Freeze EDTA blood after blood sampling and dispatch deep-frozen; patients must stop taking the following medication approx. 3 days beforehand, if medically reasonable: Guafenesin, mephenesin, methocarbamol, paracetamol, salicylic acid; the following foodstuffs are to be avoided approx. 3 days before collection: Pineapples, eggplants, avocados, bananas, currants, kiwis, melons, mirabelles, nuts, plums, gooseberries, tomatoes. Note: Tumor marker analysis results which have been obtained by different analysis methods (tests) e. g. from different manufacturers may be not comparable. Thus, longitudinal control of a tumor marker should always be done with the same testkit. |
